Paul Taylor, a middle-aged man, is devastated after losing something that meant the world to him. He decides to give up everything and to go and teach at a reform school for kids aged between 12 and 16 in the hope he would come to understand the criminal mind of a child.
Here he is challenged by students who have nothing to lose. The only way out for them is to kill for survival or be killed or end up spending their lives behind bars.
While teaching at the reform school Paul Taylor befriends two pupils. These two boys literally represent the negative and positive ends of the world we live in and with them comes the mystery of what is real and what is not.
Paul begins to realize that nothing seems normal anymore and that there is more to this world than what he imagined and, if he
wants, he can make the decision to walk with the power of the universe.

ANGELS_THEY ARE AMONGST US is a movie that deals with various universal themes:
1. The Spiritual World:
• People all over the world, not just Christians, are fascinated by Angels and their proximity to God and how they are sent by God to deliver messages and this is what this movie deals with.
• Our hero initially does not believe in God or angels but then come to believe that God is real and if you walk with God then you need to fear no evil.
• Having a story about ANGELS set in the contemporary world is something that has appealed to many moviegoers worldwide. Here we think of CITY OF ANGELS (1998) starring Nicolas Cage and MICHAEL (1996) starring John Travolta. However, they were
Hollywood movies where angels had a sinful nature.
• Our movie deals with ministering angels with a moral compass.
• The dramatic question: Is God and His Angels Real?
2. The Natural World:
• People from different cultures, experience the same challenges all over the world, and our movie, ANGELS_THEY ARE AMONGST US, deals with some of these challenges, giving the movie a universal appeal
Universal Themes:
• Want to belong, wanting to be valued, Hardship, Romance, Finding Purpose, Redemption, Coming-of-Age, Faith
The Journey
• Our Hero, because of what has happened to him, believes he will come to understand the criminal minds of children. He decides to take up a teaching post at a reform school, but it is here where he realizes that he is the one who needs help.
• The Hero loses his wife and decides to make a new beginning
• The Hero is confronted by rough kids at his new job and wonders if he made the right choice.
• A kid gets killed and the Hero feels responsible, feeling helpless, until he realizes that he can make a difference when the supernatural world around him is exposed.
The controlling idea: Is it possible to understand crime and revenge in a natural world where the supernatural is exposed.
